TOC # 97: Merry Christmas, friend!
(Nov 1, 2022) 4 Things To Consider If You Want To Send The Best Personalized Client Gifts
Merry Christmas!!! đđ đŒđ
Well, at least, it is in my worldâNovember 1 is always the start of the Christmas season for me, much to everyone in my life's dismay.
(Except Wesley's godfather, Kevin. Can always count on him to agree with me. His wife, Hannahâmy best friendâis a Scrooge. And so are you, if you rain on my Christmas joy-filled parade today.)
The second Halloween is over, it's officially Christmastime to me: Spotify playlist on, decorations up, tree lit, presents ready to be wrappedâŠ
And, actually, that's what I've come here to chat with you about todayâbecause while it might be too early for ~some people~ to think about Christmas, it's never too early to talk about how to send your clients + customers the best gifts, whatever the occasion may be. đ„ł
4 Things To Consider If You Want To Send The Best Personalized Client Gifts
As a service-based business owner, my clients are my top priority. Iâm so grateful for all of their supportâfrom hiring me to write their copy, to telling their friends about me, to posting about me on their Instagram story.Â
These people are the only reason Iâm able to support myself and my family, and I love to show them my appreciation after our project, on their birthdays, and around the holiday season.
So, naturally, because I only live near one or two of my clients, the best way to do that is by sending them a nice, thoughtful gift.
(Or by writing them a really nice review, but my love language is gifts, and itâs Christmastimeâor, like I said, in my world it is, at leastâso, naturally, we're talking presents today.)
#1 - Read through your questionnaire and see if they mentioned anything specific that they love.Â
This oneâs for my fellow service providers that send questionnaires, of course. Go back and check if anything they noted on their questionnaire could make for a good gift, and send that!
(Here's my hack, that you can feel free to steal from meâon my questionnaire, I ask âIf you had to choose something other than cake to have for your birthday, what would it be? And, P.S., when IS your birthday?â as a sly way of having them tell me exactly what they'd love to receive and when to send it.)
#2 - Stalk them on social to get to know them better.Â
Head to their Instagram and watch their stories / scroll through their highlights to see if theyâve mentioned anything specific that they either love or wish they had.Â
If nothing comes up, sift through their posts to get a feel for what theyâre like on a more personal level, to find clues about what they might like.
#3 - Think about their location and the time of year.Â
Sending a thank-you gift but donât know what to get? Think about where they live, and whatâs fun to do during the time youâre sending the gift.Â
If theyâre from Montreal and you know they spend their winters at their cottage in Mont Tremblant, it could be nice to send them some slippers and a good book with a note that wishes them a good vacation up North. You get the picture!
#4 - Go into it with gifts on the brain.Â
If you know youâre planning to send your client a thank-you or holiday gift at the end of your time together, go into it with âwhat do they love, what can I buy for them them that theyâll actually like?â in mind. If they mention something theyâre interested in, write it down and save that info for later!
