TOC #182: Meeting Other Wesley...
(June 18, 2024) 14 Things To Know Before Writing A Sales Page For Your Offer
“I'm just looking!” he lied. “I'm not gonna touch anything!”
Yeah, right.
The second that boy walked into the pool holding his Hot Wheels, I knew my child would be after them.
So, I was absolutely 0% surprised that, when the little boy and his mom were settled in their spot at the other end of the pool, my child marched right over to “look” at his toys.
“Oh, it's fine, you can play with them,” the other little boy's mom said. “You'll share, right, Wesley?”
Woo said yes.
…but I was confused.
How did she know his name?
“Yep, I'll share!” the other little boy said, already handing over his monster truck.
Wait, what?
“What's your name?” I heard the mom ask Woo.
Naturally, my child responds with “Wesley with a W. I'm five years old!”
& her child responded with the same.
TWO five-year-old Wesleys? What are the odds?
Instant best friends, obviously.
We quickly found out Wesley #1 (Other Wesley got to be #1 because he's older) was in The Villages for the week, just like us, visiting family.
His mom told me that she traveled there from Alaska with him, leaving her husband at home, because he couldn't leave work, and her job was more flexible.
From there, the convo shifted into what *I* do for work, and I launched into my typical awkward I-don't-know-if-you-know-what-this-means-at-all speech:
“I'm a website copywriter. You know, all the words on a website? That's what I do. I write them for my clients. I also help them with sales pages; basically just long-form websites explaining why someone should buy something.”
And, as if one coincidence weren't enough for that day, she told me she happened to be starting a new business, launching a new course, and feeling overwhelmed about where to start and how to grow online.
First name / Bestie, I was practically salivating.
Do you know how much it thrills me to have an interested party sitting in front of me ready to soak up all my knowledge about starting and growing an online business?
More than the boy FINALLY saying I'm allowed to dress him like my little doll.
(I've been begging him for 6 months to let me buy him clothes but the man won't let me spend a dime on him. Him finally agreeing made me wanna propose.)
Safe to say I was pumped — and a second set of immediate friends was made that day, unfortunately with no matching names, but still.
We yapped and yapped about all sorts of things, the boys played at the pool for hours, and when we said our goodbyes, we exchanged numbers to stay in touch with the hope to we both visit The Villages at the same time again.
It was a cute lil time.
Woo talked about Other Wesley for a few days after that, as kids do, then he was onto his next hyperfixation.
I, however, thought of Jenny a few times over the past couple weeks, wondering how she was getting on with her new venture.
Then, out of the blue, she sent me a text basically asking me:
What the hell do I do about my sales page when I'm starting from scratch?
& I was READY with the answer.
14 Things To Know Before Writing A Sales Page For Your Offer
Writing a sales page is often the hardest part of selling your thing — because it's the thing that matters most.
Unfortunately, readers can't read your mind, they can't see the future, and they can't automatically know everything you know about your offer.
So, we need to do our best to SHOW them how much our offers matter — and how beneficial they are — with a super engaging, convincing sales page.
And, when it comes time for you to actually sit down and write yours, here's where you're going to start. 👇
Who is it for?
Why do they need it?
Which problem(s) does it solve?
How can the reader benefit from it?
What’s going to make them SEE / FEEL the transformation?
What is point A, and what is point B, and how does the course help them make it from A to B?
How will this offer help them grow their business? Change their life / situation? Impact their day-to-day?
Why did you create it?
What makes you qualified to teach this subject?
Why should your reader trust you?
Which new skill(s) or benefit(s) are they getting?
Who is the offer NOT for?
What’s your ideal student / customer / your “best fit”?
What’s going to be the thing to convince them?
That's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to sales page brainstorming — but make sure you save this newsletter somewhere safe (or screenshot it!) so you can refer back when you start drafting your next sales page.
& if you want even MORE sales page help, I've (obvi!) got you. 🫡
Actually, it's not “just” a sales page class — it's an entire in-depth sales page training, as well as an offer development workbook, AND a sales page copywriting template. It is quite literally the ONLY thing you need if you want to launch something ASAP.

Sara Noel's New England Summer: Weekend Getaway Itinerary Series
This past weekend, my best friends & I took the liberty of a much needed girls' day and headed down to the Cape, but we didn't want to drive all the way over to where we usually stay (about 1.5 hours from my friend Hannah's house), SO we decided to explore an area we don't really venture to as much — and we had the best time!
Now, I'm sharing the itinerary with you ;) have fun!
Upper Cape,
Massachusetts
Now, technically “upper Cape” isn't one place; it's a collection of towns. That's kind of irrelevant for the purpose of this newsletter, though, because, like… just take my recs.
🌊 BEACH AT…
Sandy Neck or Town Beach in Sandwich.
🌭 EAT AT…
Breakfast: Beth's in Sandwich. Stuffed french toast panini… are u kidding me???
Lunch: Seafood Shanty's lobster roll. It recently went viral when Meredith, fan favorite creator and founder of Wishbone Kitchen, shared her family's ritual of going there before heading to Nantucket. The lobster rolls are absolutely massive, to the point where her family has a tradition of ordering 1 roll for 2 people.
Dinner: Estia in Mashpee — get the octopus and the goat cheese + fig dip. You will pass away from pure happiness.
🎀 SHOP AT…
Day Off in Mashpee Commons. She's so cute.
AND THERE'S YOUR FUN SUMMER WEEKEND IN THE UPPER CAPE! 🦪
& if you use this itinerary, tag me @btlcopy on Instagram when you post about it! I'd love to see your lil vacations 🤠
SIDE NOTE…
Remember when I told you about my Newsletter Storytelling Workshop coming soon?!
Well, it's here.
And it's $197.
…unless you get it through this link.
Then it's only $97.
…and it comes with $3,800+ worth of other workshops from other wicked smart people, like my friends Xanthe Appleyard and Sarah Kleist and Sarah Burk and Aireanna Elanah.
& if you're thinking, “Sara, what the fuck are you talking about we get $3,800+ worth of courses and resources for $97…?” I'm gonna be honest with you, First name / bestie, I'm questioning it too bc I know it sounds too good to be true but it's literally…not? That is a GOOD ASS DEAL and now I think I need to buy it myself LOL 🏃🏻♀️
>> Check out the details here! It's only $97 for everything you see on that sales page and there's legit no catch. Wild.
TTFN!
