TOC #169: So, I'm not single anymore...
(March 19, 2024) 4 ways to get your readers to fall in love with you through your site
So, I'm not single anymore…
But this man's not the only person that has a crush on me. 👀
People all over the world have crushes on me, actually.
Australia, Canada, Iceland, California, Bali, Mexico, Rhode Island, Arizona…
They can't get enough.
Every single week, someone new slides in, hoping for my attention.
It's exhausting being me, honestly.
JK.
It's not exhausting at all.
In fact, I'd prefer it — it's exactly what I set out to make happen. I made myself this attractive on purpose.
…well, actually, I made my website this attractive on purpose.
As much as I'd like to think so, I don't think I'm getting consistent inquiries about my services because of my cute brand photos.
(Although I *will* say this new man's “this is her” photo is the one I feature on my About page. He even showed his mom. 🤭)
Despite my photos being cute and website design being downright sexy, the reason why these crushes (aka potential clients) are reaching out to me is actually due to how much they resonate with what my website SAYS.
…but my website copy is just one piece of the love puzzle. Keep reading to find out the rest.
How to get your readers to fall in love with you via your website
So far in this ~Back To Basics~ series, we've covered…
Why starting with “what should I write?” isn't the best first step
Why knowing your target audience is so crucial to your success
…and, today, we're ending off the series with an important lesson about website basics & how to attract people to your site.
As a website copywriter, I’m obviously biased, but there’s quite literally nothing that screams “I’m a professional business owner with my shit together!” more than having a kickass, SEO-optimized website.
Not only does having your own personal home address on the Internet show your potential clients and customers that you’re legit, it also shows them that you’re a professional who genuinely cares about ensuring your brand shows up, shows out, and puts its best foot forward.
AND, on top of that — if your website is done right — it shows them that you care about their needs, and that you’re the appropriate brand to meet those needs.
Here are 4 ways you can do that. 👇🏻
#1 — Speak your customer's language
#2 — Prioritize design
#3 — Pay attention to the user experience / user journey
#4 — Give them the unexpected
